Obituary of Matthew Leyda

LEYDA, Matthew (Matt) F. Matt Leyda, 26, of Ocala, passed away Sunday, December 14, 2008 in Ocala. A native of Clearwater, he moved to this area in 1996, coming here from Palm Harbor. Matt had worked for Federal Signal and E-One as a Windows Network Administrator for over 11 years, and at the time of his death was preparing to relocate to Boston. His certifications included MCP, MCSA, and MCSE. He had achieved the rank of Eagle Scout as a teen, and his many hobbies included Disney, skydiving, international travel, hiking both on the Appalachian Trail and in the Colorado Rockies. Matt was a lover of fine arts and a wine connoisseur. He is survived by his parents Marv and Gloria Leyda, sister Kristen Vendur and her husband Gary Vendur II, niece Mercedes Vendur, maternal grandparents Gene and Fran Bennett, paternal grandparents Carl and Maxine Leyda, Uncle Bill and J.P., and numerous friends, both here and abroad. Services will be held at 2 PM Friday, December 19, 2008, at Hiers Funeral Home, 910 SE Silver Springs Blvd., with Rev. Roger Wright officiating.
