Obituary of Shirley Sinko

Shirley (Skipper) Sinko, 85, passed away on January 29, 2009 at Legacy Hospice House in Ocala. Ms. Sinko was born in Iowa and moved to Ocala from Jacksonville, FL in 1994. She is a retired teacher and a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving during WWII and the Korean War. She was a member of St. Jude Catholic Community Church in Marion Oaks. Mrs. Sinko is survived by her sister, Jerry Whittington of Fairfax, MO, her special friend, Jane Riggs of Ocala, and many nieces and nephews. Ms. Sinko is predeceased by her mother, Ethel Moser and her father, Arthur Moser. Service will be held Tuesday, February 3, 2009 at 10:00 AM at Hiers-Baxley TimberRidge Chapel with Father Anthony Palmese officiating. Visitation will be Monday, February 2, 2009 from 3:00 - 5:00 PM at Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services TimberRidge Chapel, 9695 S.W. 110th St., Ocala. Graveside service with Military Honors by Angela Santos Post #4781 will be Wednesday, February 4, 2009 at 2:00 PM at Highland Memorial Park in Ocala.
