Obituary of Patrick Malone

MALONE, LCpl Patrick Antonio LCpl Patrick Antonio Malone, 21 of Ocala, died Monday, March 9, 2009, in Saqlaweiyah, Iraq, while serving his country in the US Marine Corps. A native of Leominster, Mass., he moved to this area in 1995. Patrick was a graduate of Vanguard High School, where he was in the R.O.T.C. program for 4 years. He later attended college at both the University of South Florida, and Central Florida Community College, before enlisting in the Marine Corps. He was accomplished in the Martial Arts, holding a Brown Belt in Karate. He is survived by his parents, Damian and Neida Lucy Malone, Ocala, step-sisters Andrea Pietronuto of Pelham NY, and Jennifer Hopper of Kingston, NY, maternal grandmother Iris Serrano of Ocala, and paternal grandmother Antonia Malone of Middletown, NJ. A funeral mass will be held at 11:30 AM on Tuesday, March 17, 2009, at Blessed Trinity Catholic Church, 5 SE 17th St., Ocala, with Father Pat Sheedy officiating. Interment will follow in Highland Memorial Park. Visitation will be Monday, March 16, 2009 from 5-8 PM with Prayers at 5 PM at Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services, 910 SE Silver Springs Blvd., Ocala.
