Obituary of Harriet Lily Jeffcoat

Jeffcoat, Harriet Lillian Ocala - Harriet "Lily" Lillian Jeffcoat, 90, passed away on Thursday, March 12, 2009 at Shands at the University of Florida in Gainesville after an automobile accident. Born in Lancaster, Pennsylvania she moved to the Ocala area in 1981. She dearly loved her husband Howard. She was an active member of Oakcrest Baptist Church, the Order of the Eastern Star, and volunteered for the Ladies Auxiliary of the VFW. She enjoyed church and playing bells, Kingdom of the Sun Doll Club, volunteering for The Friends of the Library, bowling, gardening, and being with her family. During her life, she worked as a legal secretary. She is survived by her son Russell M. Martin wife Karon and grandchildren Robert Martin and Lisa Marie Quinlan; daughter Carol A. Hyatt and husband Ed and grandchildren Glenn Hyatt and Kathy Tanner; and daughter Helen M. Harper and husband Butch and grandson Deputy Eugene "Buster" Harper III. and wife Carol; and granddaughter Stacy Lynn Foden and husband Frank, and fifteen great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Howard and parents Lillian and George Arndt. A funeral service will be held at 11 AM on Wednesday, March 18, 2009 at Oakcrest Baptist Church, 1109 NE 28th Street, with Rev. William D. Terrell officiating. A viewing will be held one hour prior to the service. A committal service will be held at Pine Level Cemetery in Oxford Wednesday afternoon. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Music Department of Oakcrest Baptist Church.
