Obituary of Charles Spence

SPENCE, CHARLES G. Anthony - Charles G. Spence, 69, died Sunday morning at his home. He was born May 14, 1939 in Flint, MI and was the son of the late Thelma and Wallace Spence. He was a retired Thoroughbred horse breeder, trainer and owner and a member of Unity Baptist Church in Anthony. Survivors include his wife Janice of Anthony, his son, Jim of Anthony, his daughters, Denise Wilson and husband Art of Coleman, MI, Tina Powell and husband David of Weidman, MI and Carol Bohannon and husband Mark of Shepherd, MI, his brother, Wallace Spence of Mesa, AZ, his grandchildren, Paul Wilson and wife Stephanie, Danielle Sholes and husband Jesse, Lance Wilson, Ryan Powell, Brennan Powell, Elle Bohannon and Grace Bohannon and his step-grandchildren, Ashley Powell and Jeremy Powell, all of MI. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Bernie, his son, Charles and his first wife Elaine. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, March 19, 2009 at 5:00 P.M. at Unity Baptist Church with Rev. Samuel W. Clements officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to the Unity Baptist Church Building Fund or Hospice of Marion County. The family would like to thank everyone who assisted them during Charlie's illness.
