Obituary of Domenic J. Mattei

Formerly of Pittsburgh and Champion, PA, Domenic J. Mattei, 76, died Monday, May 26, 2009. Domenic moved to The Villages, Florida in 2005. He retired as owner/operator of Aspen Concrete and Construction, Co., Inc.; A&D Concrete Construction Co., Inc.; Mattei Enterprises and D&A Company. Domenic was responsibile for the construction of many commercial and industrial concrete projects in and around th Tri-State area. Domenic graduated from Allegheny College in 1954 and attended the University of Pittsburgh School of Law. Domenic became a professional basketball player for the Army while stationed in Kaiserslaughten, Germany. He also played football and was a professional referee for the Army until his tour was completed. Domenic was preceded in death by Mary Mattei Dangelo and Emidio Mattei. Domenic is survived by his beloved wife, Mary Louise Rudman Mattei,and loving father of, Mary Christine Mattei, Pittsburg; Donna Mattei Johnson, Maryland; Domenic J. Mattei, Jr., Pittsburg; and Sharon Mattei Karner, Georgia,and five grandchildren. Domenic was a loving husband, father and PapPap. His caring and kind heart was given to his family, friends and everyone around him until his heart had nothing more to give. He will be forever remembered. Private interment, The Villages, Florida.
