Obituary of Brunell Norton

Ocala— Brunell B. Norton, a Christian lady, went home to be with the Lord on July 9, 2023. Although she will be deeply missed, her daughters share in the great joy of knowing they will see their mom again in heaven. Brunell was born in Dixie County, in Shamrock, Florida, to Stanley and Flossie Bichard on April 25, 1936. The family moved to Jacksonville, Florida, when she was six years old. She graduated in 1954 from Andrew Jackson High School, where she was involved in many school activities. Brunell married her husband, Hubert Norton, on April 29, 1955. They lived in Jacksonville and Orange Park until moving to Ocala in August, 1992. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 63 years in 2018. She has two daughters: Teresa (Steve) Norton Pace, Jacksonville, and Kathy Norton, Ocala.  Her daughters were blessed to have such a special and loving mom, who was the heart of the family. In memory of her brave battle with cancer, the family has requested donations to be made to the Ovarian Cancer Research Alliance, (OCRA). Funeral services will be Thursday, July 20, at 12 noon, with receiving of friends one hour prior at Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services, 910 E. Silver Springs Blvd., Ocala, FL, 34470. (352) 629-7171.
