Obituary of Agnes Counts Monroe

Agnes Counts Monroe, 87, of Belleview, Florida passed away April 4, 2023, at E.W. & Lucille Cates Hospice House Ocala, Florida. She was the wife of the late Huey Monroe. Agnes was born in Ocala, Florida, a daughter of the late John and Laura Counts. She was of the Baptist faith. She was a great cook and homemaker who loved cooking for her family. She enjoyed deer hunting and going to their cabin in North Carolina every summer where her favorite thing to do was fish in the creek. At home she grew beautiful flowers in her yard and loved to feed and watch the birds on her patio. She also worked on the farm with her husband, picking vegetables and driving the tractor. When she was younger she loved to go and visit her parents every Sunday in Fort McCoy. Agnes was a relatively quiet person who radiated love wherever she went and everyone she met loved her. Agnes is survived by sons, Wayne L. Monroe and his wife Cindy of Ocala, FL and Richard A. Monroe and his wife Shon of Belleview, FL. She is the grandmother of Jacob Monroe, Heaven Monroe and Wyatt Monroe and step-grandchildren; Jarrett LaFleur and Jeni’e Shaffer. She has 5 great grandchildren. She is also survived by a sister Geraldine Mullins of Deltona, FL. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and sisters, Maybelle Kinsey and Frances Meeks and brothers Charles Counts and Fletcher Counts. The family will receive friends at The First Baptist Church of Summerfield, 14550 SE 65th Court, Summerfield, FL 34491 on Wednesday, April 12, 2023, from 10:30 to 11:30 AM. Funeral services will begin at 11:30 AM. Interment will be at Nichols Cemetery, 1790 County Road 246, Oxford, FL 34484.
