Obituary of Madalyn Torres

Madalyn Torres, 28, of Savannah, Georgia passed away on July 12, 2022. She was born February 4, 1994, the daughter of Saul and Minerva Torres. Madalyn was a native of Providence, Rhode Island, before moving to Ocala, Florida in 2002. Following her graduation at Vanguard High School in 2012, Madalyn joined the United States Army where she served proudly for four years as an Army Medic, caring for her fellow soldiers. After her time in the Army, Madalyn moved to Savannah, Georgia where she had been for her last three years. During this time, she continued her work helping fellow veterans, working with such organizations as 9 Line and Blue Force Gear.

Madalyn was a fun-loving soul who loved exploring, going to the beach, and being out and about. She will be remembered as a loving mother, daughter, sister, and friend.

Madalyn is survived by her son, Liam; parents, Minerva and Saul Torres; siblings, Hugo, Jackie (George) Miller, Frances (Edward) Cates, Jocelin (Josh) Rapp, Carla (Jesse) Dauenhauer, and fiance, Blake Smith; nieces and nephews, Angello Ramirez, Elizabeth Miller, Reese and Lily Cates, Rhiley, Jace, and Ellianna Dauenhauer and Angelina Rapp.

She was preceded in death by Uncle Leonel Torres and Grandmother Francisca Torres. Visitation for Madalyn will be held at Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services (910 E Silver Springs Blvd.,

Ocala, FL 34470) on Monday, July 25 at 11:00am, followed by funeral services beginning at 12:00pm at the same location. The family is requesting everyone wear PURPLE to the service, as that was Madalyn’s favorite color. Burial with military honors will follow at Florida National Cemetery, with a reception to be held back at the Hiers-Baxley funeral home afterwards.
