Obituary of John D. Gruppioni

John D. Gruppioni passed away peacefully at AdventHealth Ocala Hospital on July 2, 2022. He was attended by his loving and devoted wife, Charlotte Undercoffer Gruppioni and his lifelong friend Pasquali F. Pellegrino. John was born on December 20, 1952, in West Springfield, Massachusetts. John was the only child of Dante Gruppioni, a professional hockey player and Mary O’Connell Binelli. John’s natural father died when John was an infant and he was raised b his stepfather, Sylvio Binello. John was a CPA who attended Worchester Polytechnic Institute and the University of Massachusetts, at Amherst, Massachusetts, graduating with honors in 1974. John was a proud veteran and honorably served in the United States Navy as a Russian linguist from 1974 until 1978. John worked for the U.S. Department of Labor Office of inspector General in Kansas City, from January 1980 until September 2009 retiring at the grade of GS-13. He then moved to Gainesville, Florida where he worked for the Florida Department of Revenue. He also worked as a senior fiscal analyst for Alachua County until April 2013. He further worked as a private tax accountant at A+ Tax and Bookkeeping in Newberry, Florida until his death. He leaves behind his beloved wife, Charlotte and three first cousins; Susan Murphy, Patricia Lambert and Cathy Lucier. John was very close to his cousins. A Memorial Service will be held at the Silver Springs Shores Presbyterian Church, 674 Silver Road, Ocala, FL on July 21, 2022, at 10:00 AM.
