Obituary of Ruth Isabel Slover

Ruth Isabel George Perry Slover was born on September 1, 1922. She entered the presence of her Lord and Savior on June 8, 2022, in Live Oak, Florida after a brief illness. Isabel was married to George H. Perry and then later to Earl Slover which both which proceeded her in death. She is survived by sons George Victor Perry, of Dallas, GA, Jack A. Perry of Starke, Florida, Paul G. Perry of Appling, GA, Richard A. Perry, Sr. and Calvin G. Perry of Wellborn, Florida, and Charles W. Perry of Tallahassee, Florida. She is also survived by sisters Marion Bryant of Leominster, MA and Edith Snowdeal of Berea, Ohio, a brother Charles George of Yuma, AZ, 16 grandchildren, many great grandchildren, several great, great grandchildren, several step-children, step-grandchildren, and step-great grandchildren. Isabel in addition to both her husbands, she was preceded in death by her parents, Rev. Harold P. George and Ruth A. George, brothers David George and Gordon George, sister Doris George, and sons David A. Perry and Robert A. Perry. Isabel always belonged to local Bible believing churches wherever she lived and found herself involved in serving the Lord in some capacity in those churches. Often, she would teach Sunday School classes. The last church she belonged to, and taught Sunday School in, was the First Baptist Church in Dowling Park, Florida. Isabel was loved not only by her family but by those who knew her. She spent a lot of time just praying for her family and friends and had a burden for people to come to know the Lord. She wanted those who knew the Lord to be in the best relationship they could be with Him. She was an avid reader and loved to put puzzles together. There will be no service for Isabel, though the family will meet later remember Isabel. In lieu of flowers, donations made be made to Gideons International.
