Obituary of Richard Allan LaMay

Richard Allan LaMay, Sr., 90, of Ocala, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 8, 2022, at E.W. & Lucille Cates House in Ocala. A native of Springfield, MA., he and his late wife Beverly moved to Ocala in 1991. Prior to his retirement, Mr. LaMay had worked as a Maintenance Supervisor at Heyman Properties of Westbrook, CT. and at U.S. Line Company in Westfield, MA. He loved golfing, fishing, bowling, and was a member and former cameraman at the First Baptist Church of Ocala. He also served on the FL. Disaster Relief Team through the church and was part of the clean-up team at Ground Zero 9/11 in NYC. Survivors include his daughter Debra J. Tise, who was with him by his side and helped care for him, girlfriend and caretaker Marcia L. Morgan, estranged son Richard A. LaMay, Jr., brother-in-law Paul Curry; and nephews Richard E. LaMay, Jeffery B. Anderson, Sr., Glenn P. Curry and Scott W. Curry. Private inurnment will be in Florida National Cemetery, under the direction of Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services, Ocala. Memorial contributions may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, 4899 Belfort Road, Suite 300, Jacksonville, FL 32256. Interment will take place at Florida National Cemetery 6502 SW 102nd Avenue Bushnell, FL, 33513.
