Jean Paglia

Obituary of Jean A. Paglia

Mrs. Jean A. Paglia, 83, of Ocala was called home to the Lord on Thursday, March 24,2022. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.

She is reunited in Heaven with her late husband, John A. Paglia, Sr. to continue their beautiful love story in eternity.

John Sr. and Jean, with their children (Diane, John Jr, and Michael) moved to Central Florida 50 years ago and started, owned, and operated many successful businesses. After her husband’s passing in 1989, Jean continued to work alongside her children and grandchildren as an Owner and Controller of Florida Express Environmental.

Jean’s number one priority in life was her family and she thrived on watching her grandchildren dance, play sports and receive accolades of achievement. Jean was the catalyst behind the family motto “Whatever it Takes” driving everyone to be their best in whatever they set out to accomplish.

Jean, affectionately known as “GeeGee” to all who adored her, spent any chance she had guiding and influencing her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and anyone who spent time with her. She was always willing to help a stranger any chance she could. She volunteered countless hours at Munroe Regional Medical Center Women’s Auxiliary, Ocala Civic Theater, and Blessed Trinity Catholic School. Jean was a native New Yorker and as a “Bronx beauty” was a huge New York Yankee fan. No matter the occasion, whenever Frank Sinatra’s “New York, New York” played, volume would be at full blast, led by Jean front and center dancing and singing.

She is survived by children Diane Paglia Carrizzo, John A. and Jill Paglia, Jr. and Michael D. and Shari Paglia; grandchildren Christopher Carrizzo, Jr., Dominic (Sara) Carrizzo, Lauren (Kyle) Diamantas, John (Kimberly) Paglia III, Danielle (Chadd) Hartman, Dianna (Regan) Woodall, Vincent (fiancé Ashley) Carrizzo, Kristen (Ryan) Hinshaw, Vincent Paglia, Marissa Paglia, Anthony Paglia; 11 great grandchildren (Charlotte, Joshua, Camrin, John the 4th, Caroline, Rocco, Chadd Jr, Gino, Roman, Isabella, Gionni; with 3 more on the way, brothers & sisters Daniel & Ann Pisaniello of Naples, FL and Mike & Jean E. Paglia of Ocala, Joseph DeMarco and loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and many dear friends.

May she rest in eternal peace and continue to guide and watch us from above.
