Obituary of Clara Macia-Stacker

Clara Macia-Stacker, loving mother and grandmother, passed away at 81 years of age on August 15th, 2021. She was born May 3rd, 1940, the daughter of Jose Joaquin Gomez and Clara Ester Echeverri. She was a native of Medellin, Colombia before moving to New York where she and her husband, Jose Macia, raised their family in Jackson Heights. Jose & Clara moved the family to Ocala in 1978 to run their busy convenience store/deli and rental properties.  After the tragic death of Jose, she married Edmund Stacker whom she remained married to for 26 happy years until he passed away. She was a very active member of Blessed Trinity Catholic Church of Ocala serving in many different capacities. She dedicated herself to sharing the Lord's hope to all through ministry. She was particularly dedicated to and had a leadership position in the Prison Ministry for 34 years. She loved all her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, staying connected with the growing family visiting and calling often. She loved surprise visits with her great grandchildren.

Clara is survived by her children, Lucy Sullivan, Betty Macia, John Macia and Edward Macia; grandchildren, Tina Duffy, Sharon Duffy, Tracy Renaker, Jessica Duffy, Kelly Elkins, Joseph Macia, Jade Macia, Amber Hetzer and Gabby Hetzer; fifteen great grandchildren and siblings, Alicia, Nietha, Madiela, Lucia, Ofelia, Jairo,  Javier, Fernando.

A funeral mass for Clara will be held at Blessed Trinity Catholic Church with family and close friends to celebrate her extraordinary life on August 24th at 11:00.  Online condolences may be left to hiers-baxley.com.
