Carl Ellspermann, 72, of Crystal River, Florida, beloved husband and best friend of Valorie (Bengtson) Ellspermann for 34 years, passed away peacefully surrounded by the ones he laughed with, lived for, and loved on December 27, 2020.

He was predeceased by his parents, Vincent and Chrysteen Ellspermann and Vince’s second wife, Ruth (Badkey, Johns) Ellspermann. Carl was born in Evansville, Indiana and his family later moved to Ocala, Florida. He attended the University of Florida and earned his BA and Masters in Business and enjoyed running his accounting business in Ocala for over 40 years. He had many longtime clients, of which many became his close friends.  Carl and Valorie later retired to Crystal River, where he enjoyed a contented life spent watching beautiful sunsets and for manatee sightings with their beloved dogs, Ella and Mia.

Carl’s commitment to service was instilled by his late father, Vince, and remained for much of his life. He served in the Army National Guard and was also a long-time member and past President of the Ocala Kiwanis Club. He also served on the Board of Directors for both Monroe Regional Medical Center and M&S Bank.  One of Carl’s proudest moments was when he championed the development of Community Health Services of Marion County, which served vulnerable populations, as well as his work to provide support to the homeless.
