Obituary of Maurice J. Garey

Maurice J. Garey passed away peacefully on Dec. 17^th, 2020 in The Villages, FL.  He was born on Feb. 14^th, 1938 in Barberton, OH.  He graduated in 1956 from Norton High School and was valedictorian of his class.  In 1961 he obtained his Bachelors of Ceramic Engineering and Master of Science from The Ohio State University.  Maurice was also named Engineer of the Year in 1961 from The Ohio State University. 

He leaves behind the love of his life “Donna”, whom he met in high school.  They were married nearly 63 years.  He is also survived by his children Christine, Mark and Lisa (Charles); grandchildren Nikole, Daniel and Noah. 

Maurice was an avid Ohio State Buckeye Fan and enjoyed playing golf especially with his wife Donna.  There will be a private service held for immediate family in late December.

Broken Chain:

We little knew that morning that God was going to call your name.

In life we loved you dearly

In death we do the same.

It broke our hearts to lose you.

You did not go alone.

For part of us went with you the day God called you home.

You left us precious memories

Your love is still our guide.

Although we cannot see you

You are always by our side.

Our family chain is broken, and nothing seems the same.

But as God calls us one by one the chain will link again.
