Obituary of Barbara Anne Ippolito

Barbara Anne Ippolito, 70, of Ocala, Florida, passed away at her home on December 12, 2020. She was born October 22, 1950, in Kew Gardens, New York to Thomas and Eleanore (Gols) Salat Brown. Barbara grew up in Queens, New York, and also lived in Chicago, where she met and married her loving husband, Joseph D. Ippolito who preceded her in death in 2004.

 

Barbara, also called “Sunny” by many, was known for her sense of justice, humor and unconditional love. Always the life of the party, Barbara loved to dance, have fun and bring a smile to everyone’s face. She played guitar and piano, liked horseback riding, studied French and German, and loved psychology and philosophy. She was an accomplished Pilates instructor and personal trainer, passionate about health and fitness and maintaining a very active lifestyle. Barbara was an animal lover and always had an array of animals growing up and throughout her life – from dogs and cats to ducks and a cockatoo.

 

Barbara is survived by her children, daughter and husband Nicole and Jeff Colombelli, son and wife Anthony and Liz Ippolito; her mother Eleanore; her twin sister Rosemary Kruger; and her brother and wife Robert and Sydney Salat. She is preceded in death by her brother Tom Salat and son Steven Ippolito.

 

A funeral service for Barbara will be held on Friday, December 18 at Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services (910 E Silver Springs Blvd., Ocala, FL 34470). Visitation will be from 2:30 p.m. EST until the time of the service. The service will begin at 3:30 p.m. EST and will also be available to view online at https://client.tribucast.com/tcid/495743425. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The American Heart Association.
