Obituary of Patricia Roberts

Patricia Roberts was called home by God on April 17 at the Cornerstone Hospice facility after a well-fought battle with leukemia.   She leaves behind her husband, soul-mate and best friend Raymond (Ray) Roberts and three children of whom she was so proud:  Sandra Roberts Drapeau and her husband Richard; Ray Ross and his wife Kathy; and Greg and his wife Kim.   She is also survived by eight grandchildren.  She was predeceased by her brother, Robert Reichart on October 9, 2017.

Everyone who had the pleasure of knowing Pat recognized her as an ambassador of kindness, laughter and good will.  Pat was born in Cleveland, Ohio on March 17, 1937.  On August 13, 1960 she and Ray were married in Cheyenne, Wyoming.  She graduated from Bowling Green University with a degree in physical therapy, knowledge she largely devoted to creating a loving home and family.  She supported Ray as his work helped kick-off the Space Age and lived and/or traveled to numerous places around the globe.  She was active in sports, running in 10K races as well as a marathon.  Her love of organization was very instrumental in the inauguration of the Cotton Row Run in Huntsville, Alabama, a premier race in the South which continues to grow now 41 years later.  She was an avid biker and a member of The Villages Cycling Club.  She loved to play golf with her ladies group.   She also enjoyed playing cards where she excelled at Wizard.

Pat will be missed by all who knew and loved her, even with the recognition that she lives on now in a place where pain is absent and joy is supreme.

Should you like to remember Pat, contributions in her name to Cornerstone Hospice, 602 Casa Bella, The Villages, FL, 32162, or the American Cancer Society would be deeply appreciated.
