Obituary of Robert F. (Bob) Siadak

Robert F. (Bob) Siadak, age 90, of Lady Lake, FL, passed peacefully on Monday evening, March 2, 2020 in the comfort of his home surrounding by his loving family.  Born May 15, 1929, in Chicago, IL, he was the youngest of two sons of the late John Siadak and Minnie (Prusak) Siadak.

Bob lived a full, long life until his last breaths and was first most a loving father, husband, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend to everyone including animals, especially dogs.  Until retiring to The Villages in 2012, he spent his life in the Chicagoland area, with 42 years as a resident of Calumet City, IL.

Bob devoted 28 years as the head electrician at Wisconsin Steel before their filing of Chapter 11.  He was very proud to be interviewed and featured in the paper regarding his role.  His strong work ethic kept him employed into his 70s where he retired from the Cook County courts after 10 years as a file clerk.

Bob was always the life of the party with his infectious laugh and funny jokes.  Even though he loved telling his favorites over again, they were always as funny as the first time with his theatrical embellishments.  He loved to cook, barbeque, shop for the best deals (the “Bob value”), bowl, shoot pool, go out to eat, travel but most of all spend time with family.

His childhood was filled with Sunday family dinners rotating among homes and concluded with a game of pinochle.  Bob’s love of playing blackjack was shared with his brother John during their numerous trips to Las Vegas to enjoy the spoils of comps.

Bob was a proud US Navy veteran, having served during the Korean war and held the honor of assembling one of the first helicopters at the Great Lakes Naval Station in IL.  As a member of American Legion post 347, he participated in the honor flight program to Washington, D.C. in 2017 and thoroughly enjoyed the experience, especially the bond and friendship with his chaperon Sally.  Bob recently joined the Korean War club, Chapter 189 and enjoyed attending several meetings and their Christmas party.  He also loved being a part of The Villages Chicagoland club where he took great pride in blowing his horn when the Bears made a touchdown.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents; his brother and best friend, John Siadak; his sisters-in-law, Margie (Oregar) Siadak and Janet Periolat; and his dear grandson, Frankie Arcaro.

Bob is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Joanne K. (Periolat) Siadak; along with his four children; Bob (Gail) Siadak of Addison, IL, Cindy (Frank) Arcaro of Libertyville, IL, Karen (Dave) Wisner of Hebron, IN, and Caryl (Gary) Yenny of Odessa, FL; eleven grandchildren, Matt (Maggie) Arcaro, Laura Arcaro, Cathy (Sheshan) Swaminathan, Jenny Arcaro, Stephanie (Andrew) Humme, Tim (Kayla) Siadak, Anna Siadak, Alyssa Wisner, Paige Wisner, Michael Yenny, and Michelle Yenny; one great-granddaughter, Whitney Yenny; and many loving nieces, nephews, extended family and dear friends.
