Obituary of James Norman Helm

James Norman Helm, 82, of Summerfield, Florida passed away November 25, 2019 at The Villages Regional Hospital, The Villages, Florida. He was the husband of MaryAnn Helm for 57 years.

James was born in Detroit, Michigan a son of the late Urban and Muriel Helm. James was a Veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps.  He worked 25 years as a Foreman for Stroh’s Brewery and worked 13 years for the Diocese of Detroit.

James is survived by his wife, MaryAnn and daughter, Wendy Orluski and her husband, Andrew of Parrish, FL, and son, David and his wife Pamela of Brighton, MI.  He was the proud Papa of Andrea and Philip Voigt, Nicholas Orluski, Bethany Thurnau, Gabrielle Helm and Garrett Helm. He is also survived by his sister, Kathleen Miller of Lady Lake, FL.  He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Anna DeFoor.

The family will receive friends at Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services, 1511 Buenos Aires, Blvd., The Villages, FL on Sunday December 1, 2019 from 2:00PM - 4:00PM. A Funeral Mass will be at 10:00AM on Monday, December 2, 2019 at St. Theresa Catholic Church, Belleview, FL. Interment will follow at Florida National Cemetery.
