Obituary of Frank A. Schaeffer

Frank A. Schaeffer, 88, passed from this life Tuesday, November 12, 2019. Born in Queens, New York he was the son of the late Frank and Alice (Sausele) Schaeffer.

Frank was a retired New York City police officer serving the people of New York for 17 years. Following his law enforcement career, he became the first conservative republican elected to office as a councilman for the town of Babylon, NY.  Following an extensive political career, he served as a county and village justice while owning many small businesses in Sidney, NY. 

Frank and his wife Doris moved to The Villages from Sidney, NY in 2011.  They both enjoyed the Villages camaraderie and lifestyle.

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his son, Kenneth Schaeffer. Frank leaves his beloved wife of 70 years, Doris (Grohl) Schaeffer and their children; Alice Nagy and her husband James; Jessica Leah Schaeffer; John Schaeffer; 10 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, November 16, 2019 at the Hiers-Baxley Funeral & Cremation Life Event Center 3975 Wedgewood Lane, The Villages from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM.  A committal service will follow at 2:00 PM at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, Leesburg, FL.
