Obituary of Leona J. Weister

Summerfield, Leona J. “Lee” Weister, 81, went to be with her Lord on Sunday, October 20, 2019. Born in Glen Rock, PA she was the daughter of the late Martin and Effie (Rohrbaugh) Shive.

 

Lee was married for 50 years to the love of her life, Donald Ray Weister. 

 

 They came to Florida from Massachusetts in 1979 residing in the Ocala area.

 

Lee was a professional hair stylist and proprietor. She owned and operated the Hair Corral Salon of Dunnellon, FL for 15 years. Her hair styling career spanned 59 years.

 

Lee and Don moved to Stonecrest in Summerfield in 2011. She enjoyed baking, cooking, gardening, shopping and the beach. Lee was a member of Hope Lutheran Church, The Villages.

 

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by a brother, Francis Shive.

 

Lee leaves her beloved husband Don; three children; Scott Markel (Jesica) of Ocala; Tanja Markel of Shrewsbury, PA; Dain Weister (Angela) of Orlando; two step-daughters, Marilyn Prescott and Pamela O’Keefe both of PA; a brother, Leroy Shive of PA; three sisters, Darlene Meyers and Lois Rittenhouse both of PA and Nancy Lee of Summerfield, FL; six grandchildren and four great grandchildren.  

 

Funeral services will be held at Hope Lutheran Church, The Villages on Friday, Oct 25, 2019 at 10:30 AM. Visitation will be held at the church prior to the service beginning at 10 AM. 

 

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society (cancer.org).

 

Burial will be in Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell.
