Obituary of William Joseph Kelly

William Joseph Kelly, 83, of The Villages, Florida passed away May 26, 2019 at his home. He was the husband of Patricia Ann Kelly for 29 years.

William was born in Brooklyn, New York a son of the late George and Mary Kelly. Prior to his retirement he was a member of the NYPD for 22 years.  He was a member of St. Mark the Evangelist Catholic Church, Summerfield, FL. He was a member of the 10-13 Club of The Villages and a member of the Lady Lake American Legion Post 347. He belonged to the Golf Club McLocmant. He enjoyed playing cards every Wednesday with his buddies.

William is survived by his loving wife, Patricia Ann Kelly and loving father of Kathy (Rob) Sabia of Mount Kisco, NY, Kevin Kelly of NJ, Mary Ellen (Wayne)Thelan of Oakdale, NY and Michael Kelly (Jennifer) of Islip, NY and step-sons Frank (Cathy) Giannattasio of New Hyde Park, NY. He was the cherished grandfather of Michael and Liz Sabia, John Thelen, Ryan and Jake Kelly and step-grandchildren Frankie and Liz Giannattasio. William is also survived by a sister, Rosemary (Jack) McSweeney of Little Falls, NJ. He was preceded in death by son, William.

The family will receive friends at Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services, 1511 Buenos Aires Blvd, The Villages, FL 32159 on Wednesday, June 5, 2019 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00AM on Thursday, June 6, 2019 at St. Mark The Evangelist Catholic Church, Summerfield, FL.  Interment will be at Florida National Cemetery.
