Obituary of Melissa Jean Bond

 

Melissa Jean Bond, aged 51, of The Villages, FL, formerly of Woodstock, GA, passed away on Tuesday, May 14, 2019 at The Villages Regional Hospital, from complications of Systemic Lupus Erythematosus. Melissa was born July 25, 1967, in Hutchinson, KS, and was adopted October 31, 1967 by Karen K. Spunaugle McClelland and William L. (Bill) McClelland. Melissa attended Papillion-LaVista High School in Omaha, NE, and graduated from University of Nebraska (Omaha-Lincoln), with a B.S. degree in Human Resources and Family Sciences. She worked as a Child Life Therapist at both Children’s and Methodist Hospital in Omaha until moving with her family to Woodstock in 1996. During the following years she operated a licensed pre-school program in her home.

 

Melissa is survived by her parents Bill and Karen; her brother William Craig McClelland and wife Amy Ellen Ide McClelland, of Hokah, MN; her two sons Jeremy Paul Bond and wife Laken Olivia Umphlett Bond: and Alexander Thomas Bond and fiancé Madison Mae Karg, all of Woodstock, GA; and cousins Mari Elizabeth McClelland of Taipei, Taiwan, and William Connor McClelland of Eau Claire, WI.

 

A Celebration of Melissa’s life will be held on Thursday, May 23, 2019 at 11 am, located at New Covenant United Methodist Church, 3470 Woodridge Dr., The Villages, FL. The service date at time is pending for St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church in Woodstock, GA.

 

In lieu of flowers donations may be made in her memory to The Women’s Ministry at New Covenant United Methodist Church in The Villages.
