Obituary of Raymond Whitaker Johnson

Raymond Whitaker Johnson, of Silver Springs, Florida passed away suddenly on Feb 28th at his home. Ray was born in Orlando, Florida on November 30, 1959 to Martha Florence and Albert Mitchell Johnson. He was the youngest of four children; Albert Mitchell "Pat" Johnson (wife Terry), Laurel Johnson Schumann (husband John) and Clifford Johnson (deceased). Ray joined the United States Marines Corp at the young age of seventeen and was proud of his service. Shortly after leaving the military he met and  married his wife Joan. He retired  as a lineman after 30 years of service. Spending time with family and friends was the most important to Ray. In retirement as throughout his life, he was a jack of all trades and enjoyed the outdoors, especially fishing and hunting. He was a friend to laugh with, a husband that stood strong and a father who believed in his children. He was loved deeply and will be greatly missed by all.  

 

Ray is survived by his wife of 35 years-Joan, son Travis Whitaker Johnson, daughters - Corrine Jean Johnson and Sara Mae Johnson.

 

The memorial service celebrating Ray’s life will take place starting at 1:00 PM on Sunday, March 10, at the F.P.E.A. Bear Lake Clubhouse, located at 3324 Holliday Avenue, Apopka, FL 32703 http://www.bearlakeclubhouse.com/
