Obituary of Donald Justin Doyle

Donald Justin Doyle, of Oxford, Florida passed away January 28, 2019, at Mission Oaks Assisted Living and Memory Care, Oxford, Florida. He was 90 years old and the husband of his beloved wife, Margaret Doyle since 1950.

 

Donald was born in Boston, Massachusetts a son of the late Donald and Mary Doyle. He was a Veteran of the US Navy serving during WWII.  He spent most of his career in Public Relations for various companies.  He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and member of St. Timothy Catholic Community.

 

He moved from Southport Connecticut to The Villages where he was active in the Macintosh Computer Club, Jazz Lovers, and taught Creative Writing courses in Memoir, Short Story and Fiction at The Villages Lifelong Living College and participated in the Literary Festival.

 

Donald will be deeply missed by his wife, Margaret I Doyle and daughter, Janet Long and her husband, Gary of Oakland, NJ and son, Stephen Doyle and his wife, Mary of Fairfield, CT.  He has 7 grandchildren; Melissa (Doyle) Cataldo, Lauren Long, Megan (Doyle) Chruisciel, Sara Long, Brittany Long, Allyson Doyle, and Matthew Doyle.  Additionally, he has 3 great-grandchildren; Anthony, Alexander and Andrew Cataldo.  He is also survived by brothers, Rev. John L. Doyle, and James Doyle and sisters, Sr. Mary St. Joseph, SND, Catherine Muirhead and Anne Kenney. He was preceded in death by his parents and son, Kenneth A. Doyle who passed in 1976.

 

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, February 1, 2019, at 10:30 AM at St. Mark the Evangelist Catholic Church, Summerfield, FL. Private Interment at the Florida National Cemetery will follow.
