Obituary of James Joseph Mayotte

James Joseph Mayotte passed away peacefully on December 11, 2018, surrounded by his immediate family. 

 

Jim of Farmington Hills, MI and The Villages, FL, was born on November 11, 1940, to the late Clyde and Dorothy Mayotte, in Bay City, MI.

 

He is survived by his loving wife, Camille, and their three children, Amy, Mark (Beth), and Scott (Leslie), and eight grandchildren; Lleyton, Mia, Cailin, Jackson, Adalyn, George, Theodore, and Edy.  Jim is also survived by his brother Richard Mayotte and sister Rita (Herbert) Rooker.  Jim attended St. Joseph’s in Bay City, MI and graduated from the University of Michigan.  He began his career at General Motors, spending many of his years in the automotive industry, as a CPA, and ending his career as a Certified Fraud Examiner and Manager of Business Practices at Chrysler Corporation. 

 

Jim was a great athlete growing up and an avid golfer.  He enjoyed traveling with his wife throughout the U.S. and Europe and spending time with their dance club on many cruises.  He was very compassionate and charitable, as an active member of the MI Knights of Columbus, making rosaries for the missions and delivering Meals on Wheels. 

 

His funeral Mass will be held at St. Timothy’s Catholic Church in The Villages, on Saturday, December 15 at 10:00 A.M.  Visitation and Prayer Service will be at Hiers-Baxley, 1511 Buenos Aires Blvd., The Villages, FL 32159 on Friday, December 14, from 6:00-8:00 P.M.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to: The Life Raft Group (GIST cancer), 155 US Highway 46, Suite 202, Wayne, NJ 07470 or Capuchin Soup Kitchen, 1820 Mt.
