Obituary of Leroy Henry Adams
Leroy Henry “Roy” Adams, 90, of Ocala, passed away on Sunday, November 18, 2018. Leroy was born in Roxberry, Boston, Massachusetts to Walter and Evelyn Adams. He was an investigator for the state of Florida. He moved to Ocala from Freeport, Long Island, NY. Leroy started a prison ministry, The Queens House of Detention, in Queens, NY in the 70’s. He also started the 7th Day Adventist church in Silver Springs Shores. He was an artist and loved to paint.
Roy is survived by his wife of over 50 years, Mireille Adams of Ocala, sons Michael Adams of NY, Jay Adams of Orlando, FL, Gordon Adams of Orlando, Kareem Adams of Asheville, NC, and Shaun Adams of Orlando, 13 grandchildren, and 7 great grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held on Sunday, December 9, 2018 at the 7th Day Adventist Church in Ocala, 1345 Pine Rd. Ocala, FL 34472, (352) 687-0545. Visitation from 10-11am and services starting at 11:00am. Entombment will follow at Highland Memorial Park in Ocala.
