Obituary of Alan Patrick Mattoon

Alan Patrick Mattoon, 70, of Ocala passed away on Monday, November 19, 2018. Alan was born in Rome, NY. He was predeceased by his wife of 25 years, Susan and his parents, William and Marjorie Mattoon and his step-grandson, Aaron Button. Alan moved to Ocala, Florida in 2013 from Lamoka Lake in upstate New York. He worked at Corning, Incorporated and ended his working career at Barber’s Jewelers in Corning, New York.

Alan was an avid sports fan, especially when it came to his beloved New York Giants and Buffalo Bills. He also loved rooting for the New York Yankees and Atlanta Braves. One of his favorite pastimes was singing karaoke with family and friends and spending time (and spoiling) his beloved pups Roxie and Jager.

Alan never met an electronic device that he didn’t try to master and he was always willing to share his knowledge. Alan spent some of his greatest times with his Ocala, Florida friends at the Eagles club singing karaoke and with his Weller Island gang on Lamoka Lake.

Alan will be greatly missed by his children Jeremy (Molly) Mattoon, Robin (Nick) Ferratella, and Ryan (Joan) Mattoon and his step-children, Wayne Hendrickson, Yvette (Daniel) Button and Richard Dow.

Alan is survived by his sisters Sherry (Carl) Edger, Susan (Gus) Bayer and Sandra (Chris) Calkins, nieces and nephews, and his grandchildren and step-grandchildren: Alex and Jackson Mattoon, Evangeline and Nicholas Ferratella, Emma, Dylan, Hannah, and Isabella Mattoon, Allison Button and great granddaughter, Maddison Button.
