Ocala- Zadrick, Alexander (Alex) 84, passed away peacefully in his sleep at 5:45 a.m. Tuesday, July 17th, 2018. Born on October 3rd, 1933 in Meriden, Connecticut to the late George and Natasha “Nelly” Zadrick. Alex graduated from high school in Meriden, CT and the went off to serve his country in the US Navy. He served on board the USS Bears, a destroyer, and was honorably discharged at the end of the Korean War. Upon return he then joined Connecticut Light & Power where he worked until his retirement. He moved to Florida in 1999 to spend his retirement years on his son Stephen's ranch in Northwest Ocala.  He quickly involved himself in the community by becoming an Ocala Elk's member, where he was Entertainment Committee Chairman for many years and becoming known for his Irish Night Festivities. Alex was also a proud member at The Queen of Peace Church.  Alex loved being a lifelong member of Masonic Lodge AF&AM of Meriden, CT, the Elks Lodge of Meriden Ct, and Scottish Rite of New Haven Ct, as well as other fraternities and service organizations. He was predeceased by his beloved wife Mary and his youngest son Alan Zadrick. Alexander is survived by his son Stephen, his daughter Valerie, his 2 granddaughters, Alexandra Galloza and Danielle Zadrick, his grandson Arden Zadrick and his great grandchildren Lilly, Mya, Hanna, Victor, Jazmyn, Leanna, and Jayce, along with very many cherished friends and relatives. Alex never met a stranger. He will be sorely missed by all who knew him. We who knew him can be comforted by the knowledge that he is now reunited with the woman he so missed and loved for so many years, his beloved Mary, with whom he will now be able to spend Eternity in “that house not made by hands, Eternal in the Heavens.”

Alex was held in high esteem by his many, many friends, and will be remembered by all who knew him as the “last of the real gentlemen.”
