Obituary of Joseph Anthony DeSensi

Joseph Anthony DeSensi (Tony), age 72, a native of Louisville Kentucky passed away peacefully on July 1, 2018.  He is preceded in death by both his parents William and Helen DeSensi and maternal and paternal grandparents.  He is survived by his wife, Patricia Hellmann DeSensi (Pat), two children, Jeff DeSensi and Nicole DeSensi-Willis (Gary) and two beautiful granddaughters, Madison Ewing and Raegan Willis.  Tony also had six brothers and sisters, Tom DeSensi (Susan), Suzie McCauley, Chick DeSensi (Sharon), Crisie Telllman (Craig), Lisa DeSensi and Dino DeSensi with many cousins, nephews and nieces.

 

Tony was an avid golfer which led to his relocation from Louisville Ky to the Villages Retirement  Community located in Florida to continue his love for the sport. He was a sports enthusiast that loved watching and talking about all kinds of sports from bowling and shooting pool to swimming and golf. Tony’s other passion was being a coach, mentor and cheerleader for youths and most recently for his granddaughters. He coached football for St Ignatius Catholic Church as well as St Bernard Catholic Church for many years, for which he was most proud of winning three Toy Bowl championships. His passion for all sports was always in the topic of discussion. 

 

There will be a celebration of life on Friday night, July 20,  at Woodhaven Country Club in Louisville, KY. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Cancer Society.  There will be a private celebration of life held at a later date in Florida.
