Obituary of Judith Wymbs

Judith (Judy) Wymbs passed away on June 30, 2018 at the age of 79, at home in Summerfield, FL.  She was a devoted wife, mom, nana, sister, aunt, cousin and friend.  She was born in Newark, NJ, raised in Keansburg, NJ, and graduated Keyport High School, class of 1955.  She worked at Prudential, Newark, NJ as a medical secretary for 10 years.  She later worked for University Graphics in Atlantic Highlands, NJ as a typist and then supervisor.  She then worked as an administrative secretary for Visiting Nurse Association of Central Jersey (MCOSS), Red Bank, NJ.  Judy loved children and enjoyed babysitting for neighbors and friends, and was called Aunt “Juby” by many.  She enjoyed hosting Christmas Eve open house for over ten years with neighbors and friends from the United Methodist Church, Red Bank.  To friends and family she was known as “Mom” Wymbs.  She enjoyed family traditions, holidays and vacations with extended family around MD, OH, FL, MN and NJ.  She was married to James Wymbs for over 54 years.  They lived in Middletown, NJ until retiring to Summerfield, FL in 2005.

She was predeceased by her parents Wilbur and Matilda Whale of Keansburg, NJ, her Aunt Mary Reissner who raised her during early years in Keansburg, NJ; brother Bob Whale, of Lansdowne, MD; twin brother Tom Whale, originally of Fair Haven, NJ  and later Stuart, FL; and nephew Kenneth Whale of Lansdowne, MD.  She is survived by her husband James Wymbs; her son Victor and his wife Daniella Penta of Oakhurst, NJ; Kevin and his wife Nicole, and twin grandsons Connor and Cooper of Toms River NJ; her daughter Donna of Long Branch, NJ, her sister-in-law Jean Whale of Lansdowne, MD, sister-in-law Margaret (Peggy) Whale in Reston, VA and many nieces and nephews.  A private memorial service with immediate family will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Judy’s honor to the American Diabetes Association @ diabetes.org.
