Obituary of Mervyn Jones

Ocala -  Dick Jones, 96, of Ocala passed away on Sunday, June 17, 2018, at Brandly Hospice House in Summerfield, FL.  Mr. Jones was born in Carbondale, Pennsylvania.  He graduated from Millersville State Teachers College in 1944 and received his Master’s Degree from Ursinus College.  He taught school for 13 years, before moving to Miami, Florida.  After moving he owned and operated South Miami Pool Company and then Catalina Pools, where he received national recognition for his work.  In 1986 he retired to his home in St. Simons Island, Georgia before moving to Ocala in 1996.  He was of Lutheran faith.

Mr. Jones was preceded in death by his loving wife of 74 ½ years Jayne O. Jones, and his son Richard G. Jones.  He is survived by daughter, Barbara Smith; and daughter in law, Jacqueline Jones; his grandchildren, Kemper (Butch) Williams, Brooke (Slade) Henry, Kristin de Leon, Richard (Mercedes) Jones; and great-grandchildren, Madison Williams, Judd Williams, Megan Lowe, Trent Lowe, Jake de Leon, Owen de Leon, Remy de Leon and Indiana Jones; and great- great grandson, Holston Lowe.
