Obituary of Dorothy L. Peters

Dorothy L. Peters, 92, of Justin, TX, formerly of Ocala, FL passed away on Sunday, June 3, 2018.  Dorothy was born in Oliver, GA to Tobe and Mable McBride. She graduated from high school in Savannah, GA with honors, and also attended business school there.  She met her future husband, Robert Peters while he was stationed at Hunter Army Airforce Base in Savannah during WW II.  She lived in Brookfield, Wisconsin for much of her married life, and Ocala from 1979 to 1990, and worked for many years with the Elmbrook School District in administration.

She was a member of First Baptist Church of Ocala, and worked in the administrative office there in the 1980’s.

She enjoyed gardening, travel, baseball and decorating, but mostly her children and grandchildren.

Dorothy was predeceased by her husband Robert Peters in 1982, and son Gary in 1971.  She was also predeceased by her brothers Arthur McBride and Fred McBride, and sister Juanita, all of Savannah, GA.

She is survived by her son Randy Peters (Sheri) of Panama City, FL.  Daughter Julie Miller (Richard) of Justin, TX.  Her grandchildren include Melissa Irlin (Alex), and Aadam Peters of Minneapolis, MN.  Timothy Alexander, Joseph Alexander and Rebekah Alexander of Denton, TX.  Joshua Miller (Krista), Jessica Miller, Jared Miller, Gabriel Miller and Leianna Miller of the Greater Dallas and Denton, TX area, and Kristen Dugan of Fayettville, AR.  Dorothy had 8 great grandchildren

Graveside services will be 9:00am on Thursday, June 21^st at Highland Memorial Park in Ocala with Pastor Ed Johnson officiating.
