Obituary of Betty Brooks Chazal

Betty Brooks Chazal, 94 of Ocala Florida passed away on Saturday, June 2, 2018 at her home with her brother Pete and caregivers by her side.  She was the daughter of John P. Chazal and Dorothy Brooks Chazal. Betty attended Trinity Academy, Ocala High School, and graduated from Florida State University in 1945 with honors in Economics. She was employed by the State of Florida for 48 years in Health and Rehabilitative Services. Betty was a member of the Ocala Chapter of the DAR and was avid genealogist, who had written much about her family history. She is preceded in death by her brothers John P. Chazal, Jr. and Louis L. Chazal, brother in law Ronald J. Platte and parents. Betty is survived by her brother Peter A. Chazal (Mae) of Ocala, FL, sister Dorothy(Dorrie) C. Platte of Augusta, Ga. sister in law Barbara B. Chazal of Morehead City, NC,. Nieces and nephews- Ellen Chazal, Peter Chazal, Jr. , John Chazal, Anne Chazal, Elizabeth King, Daniel Platte, Caroline Gupton, Stephen Platte, William Platte. The family will receive friends on Friday, June 8, 2018 at 9:30 AM prior to the Funeral Mass at 10:00 AM at Blessed Trinity Catholic Church. The burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to the charity of your choice in memory of Betty Chazal.
