Obituary of Charles Morrison

Charles Morrison was born in Sacramento, California in 1918, to Walter and Lois Morrison (formerly Lois Gardener).  He grew up there and graduated from Sacramento High School.  He became one of the early HAM Radio operators in his teen years, (Call sign W6NFH) and still had an active license when he died, at age 100.  Charles was a World War II combat veteran, serving his Country honorably as a RADAR maintenance technician in Guam and in Saipan.

 

After the war, Charles worked at McClellan AFB in Sacramento until he retired, after having served for 33 years. 

 

Charles continued to live in Sacramento until 2011, when he moved to The Villages, Florida, to live with his daughter and her family.

 

Charles was preceded in death by his three wives, Ruth Morrison, Mona Morrison, and Dorothy Morrison, He is survived by his daughter, Judi Batchelor and her husband, Marty, of The Villages, Florida; two grandsons, David Batchelor and his wife, Jo-Anne, of Rockledge, Florida, and Marc Batchelor and his wife Shanda, of Winter Springs, Florida, by three great grandchildren, Shamaron and her husband Mike, Alysha, and Dustin, all of  Winter Springs, Florida, and by two nephews, Michael Alphin of California, and Robert Alphin of Nevada. He was also a long time member of The Masonic Grand Master’s Lodge No. 3000, in Sacramento.
